private party sale

anyone ever done a private party sale on a car or motorcyle? I never have... what needs to be done to transfer the title to me from the other guy (for my hopefully new bike on sunday)? What's the process?

private party sale

The one time I did it we typed up a bill of sale that included the VIN #, description of the vehicle, the amount paid, the names of both parties with signitures, and the date. Also make sure you get the title with it because to transfer it you need the original one, and the plates need to be current also.

4 Door 2.3, Sport Package, Moon Roof, Spoiler, CD Changer, ABS

from my experience with all the cars I have bought, just have to bring the title to a notary and sign it in front of them so they can sign off on it and put their seal on it. Then take it to the DMV

Titanium 3s Sedan, MTX, Sports Package, abs/sab/sac, HID's/tpms
Enigma stubby antenna, black calipers, AEM CAI, Progress adjustable rear sway bar, 35% charcoal tint, pearlescent engine cover, hidden XM Commander, Draxas exhaust, TWM SS, GT Spec front strut tower brace

I should note that this is a multi-state affair, too - I'm a CT state resident, buying a motorcycle in MA>
