Well Hurricane Frances is looming down on Florida and we still dont know where it will hit... its a huge category 4 storm with 140mph+ winds... and I only have a 1/4 tank of gas and all the gas stations are running our of gas and the lines are GIGANTIC... lets pray that it makes a quick turn north goes out to sea and just goes away from all because wherever this storm hits will be DEVASTATING.. its bigger in size then andrew

the current projecitions don't have it going north anymore, but pushing west....the eyewall is set to go over orlando and central florida. (YEA ME!)

Miami and the keys shouldn't get the 140+mph winds, although you'll get some. its slowing down though, so the landfall projections are getting pushed back almost a day. get some gas brotha!!! and hide your car in a garage if you can. oh yeah, you might want food, water and beer too.

I'm really hoping it doesn't hit anyone too hard, but thats not going to happen. So I hope it doesn't hit me to hard. I'm just inland of Cape Canaveral. The older paths had it coming onshore right on me. Even though the path is quite south of me, we'll still get hit. I'm just hoping it doesn't turn and have a direct hit on Kennedy space center. The VAB, which is huge, is only made to withstand a CAT 3 hurricane. The OPF's where the shuttles are housed, can take 110mph winds.

And the eye might only make contact with lower Orlando, but the whole region is screwed. This storm is just huge.

Well, I hope that everyone comes out ok. I'm glad that it is going to miss us, but you never wish it to hit and damage another part of the country.

Twice as big as charley...almost the same size as andrew.

Few Hurricanes in the last 20 years have been the size and strength of Andrew; Frances is up there.

As much as I enjoy a good storm and am somewhat of a storm chaser, good luck to everyone who is down there. This one is going to be a beast.
