Engine Blown! Help thine helpless brother. :-(

on this forum.

Seems like everytime I do, it gets locked.

Just trying to get some answers as to why my car is all f'd up. No CEL or nothing, it's just dead. Dealership is trying to tell me it's the CAI and I need proof that it wasn't.

From my understanding of dealers, it's THEIR job to prove that the CAI 'caused the problem, not yours.

Don't be upset, but you're asking the same questions in your threads. A few examples:

http://www.mazda3forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=10683

You can't blow an engine with a CAI, you can seize it - hydrolock. Case closed.

http://www.mazda3forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=10578

Here you edited, I mean deleted ALL of your info. This was your original thread. You deleted info from it b/c you're afraid Mazda might find out you did (I assume) dumb things w/your 3 and deny warranty work. Then you complain no one answers your questions - how do you expect others to answer when they don't know the FULL story?

http://www.mazda3forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=10618

Here you created a 2nd topic that dealt with EXACTLY what you asked previously here: http://www.mazda3forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=10578

So on behalf of Mazda3Forums.com and its members, I have to ask: what do you want from us?

Well they weren't dumb things. Just thing that had nothing to do with my problem at hand. Classic Mazda was viewing that and many other threads. I wanted to provide enough info to help them out.

I just need to know what the problem is. Have you ever heard of a mazda 3 dying without a single warning(CEL)? I haven't, at least not on this board.

I'm confused and scared at the same time. I don't know what's going on and neither does the dealership yet they are really leaning towards charging me for any an all repairs because of the CAI.

Sorry if I'm repeating myself, but I'm really nervous about this. It just seems odd that my brand spanking new car would die at 7300 miles.

Have you looked in Guess' thread(s) - I think his engine also went. And there could be a few posts in Powerplant ->Stock about engine and tranny issues.

Wished I knew more...

Dinu, they called...bad stuff...

The engine is GONE! Thanks to the CAI. But, my car insurance may cover it. It's still a $500 deductable., though.

Hydrolock? No, the entire valve timing failed.

How did a CAI make the valve timing fail?

Any why would your car insurance cover a mechanical failure?
