...let the mother f**ker burn. Burn mother f**cker, BURN!

Yeah, I love the Florida Turnpike. 10 miles of traffic came to a complete stop just to watch. In fact, the rubber necking was so bad that there was a 6 car pile up caused by that fire down the road.

Nice, I saw a car fire once at a toll plaza on the 408, so everyone was stopping anyways. It was pretty cool to just sit and watch, my friend had pics on his camera phone but those went with his laptop.

I would've gotten better pics, but I had to concentrate on the rubberneckers on the turnpike.

On highway 15 near LA, some damn trucker flipped his tanker, bursting all over the highway. We were backed up for 2 hours. He burned up the grass along the side of the highway.

Once creeping by LA and out of Cali, on the stretch where Buffalo Bills is (LV highway 15) some idiot caught his 5th wheel on fire. Yet another 2 hour delay.

People are too damn nosy. MYOFB... mind your own f*ckin' business.

I hear ya! It's so bad down here, man. Especially with the tourists.

Well, I didn't get pics WHILE it was happening because I really didn't feel like getting into the trunk to get the camera, but here's what my Hyundai Elantra looked like after it was put out having burst into flames a couple miles south of Hesperia on the way to Vegas.

What's amazing is that while the engine compartment was completely engulfed in flames and had enough damage to total the car, as you can see in photo 7, everything behind the firewall was untouched. My cell phone was mounted on the dash, not 2 feet from where the fire started...survived competely undamaged.

Cool pics.
What was the cause? Loose battery?

Kinda unknown. Definitely electrical. It started at either the battery or the fuse box. The insnane thing is that the car was 3 years old and had just 12000 miles on it.

We here in CT have all that beat. A tanker got busted up on a bridge in bridgeport on I-95 and burned it down.

I ask 'cause batteries are the primary cause of under-hood fires, not fuel leaks.
Missing-broken-forgotten-wrong-ignored-ill fitting hold down clamps. Especially after replacing stock battery with replacement. Battery slides under braking or accelerating and shorts out against chassis.
