::laughs:: Rumor has it that a Target will be built in my area, I may have to see if they have those models...I'm so excited about finding a new anime to watch, my bf and I are definatley hooked, I asked him if his car his rear wheel drive whether he was try and drift, he said that if his car was rear wheel he'd try and drift (he has a 95' ford probe gt)...I have seen some pretty sweet footage of people in Japan drifting.

I have the entire series, movies and all in japanese. That includes all 3 stages, the extra stage, and the battle stage. (10 dvd's total) It is a really good anime. I haven't seen the ones that have come out in english. Just out of curiousity, does he still deliver tofu in the english one? I heard that they were going to change that.

No idea...I can check and get back to you on that, the DVD we picked up has the traditional and "tricked out" version...bf and i opted to watch the traditional and untouched american version...

There are movies? Best Buy had 1-4, I was going to pick up 1-2, but I wasn't sure whether I was going to like it since I had previously seen only one episode and thought it was a little odd, I'm definatley glad I gave it another chance...so after reading this thread does it make you want to go watch it?

Yeah, there are 2 movies and 3 series of episodes. They are called stages in the ones I have. The 1st stage is in essence the 1st season. I can tell you this, you will be surprised on how it ends

What I heard was that they were going to have him deliver pizza which would really ruin the entire part of how he got to be such a good driver. So I never bothered looking into the English versions. For some reason, anime seems to loose something when they get translated. Take Dragonball for example. The Japanese versions are better then the English versions. The dialogs are totally different. But to answer your question, it does make me want to watch it.

Did you find post of the DVD's in stores or did you have to special order any of them online? I'm excited about finding a new anime so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I won't have problems finding it, cuz nothing is wores then really getting into a series and not being able to find it

A pizza delivery boy? The eat pizza in Japan, but at the same time a pizza delievery boy sounds kind of out of place, eh. oh well. I do agree with you that anime lose a lot of translation and original meanings when its trasnlated, its def. why I try and stay away from the dubbed stuff, it makes me cry a little inside esp. if I have seen any anime in Japanese and then have to watch it in english for one reason or the other.

How many dvd's are in each season?

I bought them from a guy in Japan about a year or so ago. The 1st and 2nd "seasons" are 3 dvd's each, and the 3rd is 2. The 3rd can also be considered a movie too. The extra stage and battle stage are only 1. If I am not mistaken I think the 1st and 2nd "seasons" are about 30 episodes a piece.

The entire thing isn't out in English yet so you will either have to wait for them to catch up or just import like I did.

In the ones you have seen, what cars has Takumi raced against?

::laughs:: I guess the best thing to do is just humor him

My bf is that way about Dragon Ball, I kind of humor him, but after a while he kind of sucked me into it...darn it :P
