65 in a 60!

I got a speeding ticket today on my way to work for going 65 in a 60 zone. 65!!! In the left lane!

Now at times I drive a little speedier than I should, and if I got nailed speeding I would have been like "Oops, well I guess I deserve that." But going 5 mph over the speedlimit in the left lane of a 4 lane freeway... I was so mad. Made me late to work and I got to walk past my boss who was outside on a smoke break... that was great too.

And it will totally jack up my insurance if I let it post to my record, which means I have to fight it. I can either fight it myself and hope the judge completely dismisses it... OR I can hire a lawyer for about $200 - $300 which is like 3 to 4 times the $70 ticket but if the laywer gets it off my record I'll save a bundle in insurance over the next few years.

I know thats kinda sketchy but so are Insurance companies, they are the biggest theives out there. I got no problem paying the $70 to the state if they really needed it, if not for the fact that it gives the insurance companies the right to bend me over and do as they please for three years. Nah, I'd rather pay some shark lawyer a few bucks to keep them off my backside.

Goddamnit - I'm a proponent of law enforcement getting punks that completely ignore speed limits (like 95 in a 65) ... I hate it when the pull people over for stuff like this. It just makes more of the population hate law enforcement and the surrounding motives of enforcing safe roads.

I think if cops stuck to getting the drunks and reckless, they'd have more people siding with them.

Insurance also sucks... it's like manditory leagalized stereotyping.

Man, that does suck. But I just saw your car's profile. Lava orange huh? I don't know, but I've read miscellenous articles from popular news sites in the past (CNN, ABCNEWS, etc.) that brightly colored cars are more likely to attract a cops attention, and discrimination.

On the bright side (pun intended), brightly colored cars tend to get hit less often in car accidents. Something about grey cars (like mine) and blending too well with the shadows.

Man, if it was me I'd fight it. The cops around here give 10 mph over the posted speed limit. You can walk 5 mph. I'd really fight it. You got nothing to lose.

I was on my way to the store and I may have been going a tad fast. I parked my car and noticed a car following me. They kind of stopped behind my car for a second and then drove off. I am guessing they were writing down my license plate number. Is there anyway you can get a ticket from someone reporting you? If so, how can they prove it? It also might have been an off-duty cop as well. I know this sounds ridiculous, but I'm freaking out about it.

I just saw that our local police have been using a new police car.

It looks like a mid 90's accord sedan LX in some ick purple color. Its even got some off-center bumper stickers on the back.

The guy pulled over 2 people in my neighborhood for speeding the other day..... they hid those blinky lights awfully well.

I know - I'm used to spotting the massive black brush guards and 3 foot antennas from a mile away.

Maybe the guy in the Nissan was just checkin' out your ride

Do you have an Axela badge?
