Do you believe in god?

I would like to know if you believe in god and why?

Personally, I am agnostic. I would like to believe that something is out there, but I cannot be for sure. I also believe in the wealth of evolutionary data that refutes the claims of ceationism, so that makes it harder to believe in god or a supreme being.

I am leaning toward Freud's interpretation of religion, which states that religion is a man-made invention to comfort us against the mean, dark, and cold world.

This post is not meant to make anyone mad, but I am just curious about everyone's belief. I don't want to start an argument, just a good discussion.

Do you believe in god?

hehehe... I hate to say it, but every thread I've seen that relates to this topic (on other forums I've been on) almost always turn nasty somewhere.
But hey, this is a decent board with some really cool people, so maybe it'll be all good.

I'm a Jesus freak PM if you wish.

As a starting note, I want to say that we people can rationalize anything we want to. But whether what we rationalize is really the truth or not... now that's something else to think about.

Everything about evolution is based on the chances of mindless objects forming purpose. If you really understand the mechanics of living organisms, including plants, you'll realize that the chances all of it all occurring by evolution is almost nonexistent. Evolutionary data can only explain minimal changes in the world such as microscopic organisms. Everything else about evolution is completely based on theory.

Oh, and for all you God lovers out there, or at least for most of you, realize that you believe what you believe because you were born to parents who taught it to you and engraved it into your head. Think of it as a form of nepotism. You're biased and don't deserve to believe what you believe, because you were born into it. So if you're Jewish, hmmm, lemme guess, you don't believe in Jesus? Not surprising.

Personally, I'm pretty lost myself.

I don't wanna post a plethora of information that people might hound me on. I'll suggest a book for you to read and you can formulate your own conclusions. Read "Science and the Bible" by Henry M. Morris.

Do you believe in god?

I believe that if I'm not wearing a seatbelt and I fly out of the windsheild during an accident, my soul goes to a dealership in the sky where I can have whatever car I want. A different one everyday. With really good coffee and no greasy salespeople - just hot chicks that sit in your test-drive car with their tops off.

Convertible chicks and cars, what could be better? Plus, I like a wide range of colours in my chicks and cars too so that I get to experience the spice that is heaven.

Of course the Bible says you just mope around worshiping God 24/7 in heaven. As long as I'm thinking about chicks and cars while I do it, no problemo.

Drive it like you hate it!
