i was selling my 83 camaro on ebay through a friend of mine. the dude used the buy it now for $1100. everything was listed about the car and something like 40 pics was all taken.
the guy was going to pick the car up today. well after waiting hmmm 8 hours for him and lots of phone calls also one email we get this from him.
"i no you said as is but in mass ther is no as is and needs to pass wen thay look under car?? and over $599 hase 30 warranty so if you want to sell it you need to list all what is wronge so give me a email you fix floor il bye it and not as is is under $599 thanks mike sorry i just want to protect my self"
note look at the fine spelling. i think this guy is 37 years old . oh how said it is
this is what we sent him.
The listing gave as much information as I was able to provide without putting the vehicle on a lift, which was not possible as it has no insurance on it and could not be driven to a shop. NONETHELESS, the listing STRICTLY STATES THE VEHICLE WAS BEING SOLD AS-IS, and you bought it sight unseen: I don't mean to be difficult, but that is not my problem if you bought it without seeing it first. I got your email asking about the condition of the floors, but you never gave me a chance to respond, as immediately after it was the end of auction email....I would have been happy to check it out and let you know, and if I can I will still send you photos. Gregg also told me you asked him over the phone about the floors and you told him you had no problems with the condition he described. We have been waiting to hear from you all day, the least you could have done was SAID SOMETHING SOONER.
Look, I don't know what you want me to do. As far as I know, this car does not have ROTTED floors, it has a small hole in the driver floor pan on one side, that can be easily repaired if necessary. If it will not pass in Massachusetts, then why didn't you come and look first? I can't be responsible for your purchase, and no, the price will not be lowered, you commited to a legal binding auction price of $1100 and we are holding you to it.

This is NOT how ebay works, and I really don't appreciate you buying this and then coming back and complaining to me now??
"AS IS" means NO warranty, and I'm not relisiting it for $599 with a warranty, it's a 20-year old car. I understand you want to protect yourself, but you should have considered that before you bought it. I'm holding you to your bid, and if you don't want the car, then I'm reporting this to eBay and I'll let them deal with you. I purposely made it VERY CLEAR that this car needed work, but you can't buy something sight unseen without asking questions FIRST and then turn around and expect the price to be dropped because you didn't come and look ahead of time.
Honestly, what do you expect me to do? I listed every detail I could about the car, AND it was categorized under the PARTS category.
Please tell me if you want photos of the floors, I will jack the vehicle up on all sides with a floor jack if I have to to show you that the floors are not "rotted out" ~ it is 20-years old with t-tops that I clearly stated do leak in heavy rain, so some floor damage is to be expected. Let me know what we need to do to resolve this situation.
he also wants the price to drop and a F'N warranty!!!!!!!!
