I also am waiting for that phone...

Sony Ericsson is releasing two versions, a S700i (international - 900/1800/1900Mhz) and a S700c (China). Don't know if they have any plans for a NA release, but I'm sure you'll be able to buy it on the net. Hopefully they'll release it through carriers in NA....

I'm waiting for my holidays to come so I can go back to Hong Kong and get my hands on one of those, hopefully the price won't be too high, I heard it'll be around $600USD/$700CAD range :?

Sounds about right....might even be a little more if the demand is high enough. I think I'll wait until they release a NA version (which will prob be carried through TMobile, ATT or Cingular), or until the price drops low enough.... But we'll have to see.... I'm just anxious to see a working model!

It will probably get a crappy signal like most Sony Ericssons in this area and of course anything that is Sony has to take Sony's crappy and expensive memory sticks rather than the cheaper and more often used MMC and SD cards.

This is the phone I would like to have:

True most SE's reception is usually not as good as say Motorolas or Nokias, but they are getting better...

You like that ancient (in technology terms) Nokia 7650? I think you'd like it's newest incarnation, the [6620]. That is unless you find something particularly attractive about that phone...

I like the look of the 7650. The rear slide is cool and you might have missed this, but it has a camera on the top back of the phone that is revealed when the slide is down. Granted the resolution of the screen and the pictures might not be as great, but they are sufficent. I don't like the 6620 form factor. I makes the phone look like Nokia's "fat kid" phone.

I would like one of these, but I couldn't afford one, let alone all of the monthly wireless services I would need to have to use it to its full abilities...

I would probably break that phone in the first week.

I'm surprised my flip down Samsung has held together as long as it has. The only reason why I got that phone was I didn't want it in my bookbag or pocket and end up dialing someone.

Since it looks like most people here prefer Nokia over SE, here's Nokia's counter for the S700, Nokia's version of the 1 MegaPixels camera phone, 7610
