Road Hazards in Canada

Figured I would post in here so our friend from the southern USA could see the kinda crap that gets put on the roads up here.
So last night we had 2 inches of wet snow and the roads were a kinda icy so the sanding trucks were out I go to work today, the snow melted and on my way home all i could hear was rocks being kicked up by the tires. The paint job is going to take a beating diving around here. Look at the size of the "sand" grains they use around here. I'd say about 40 percent of vehicles around here have broken windshields, it's only a matter of time before it happens to my 3. Now you see why the 3M clear bra is a good investment around here.

Thats not sand is it? I thought thats just various rocks that get built up over time because it does not get washed away. Why would the sanders use rocks that big?

I'd classify that as gravel, not sand. My god, you could lay road bedding with that stuff.

It's a conspiracy! Joint venture between the auto glass biz and the road maintenance companies I tell you!
