Exam anxiety attacks?

hey folks,

I'm interested to know if anyone knows anything about exam anxiety at all?
How to get rid of it?

I know you're staring at that Red X avatar of mine

I wish i could help, I've had them all week... Caffeine doesn't help though, it actually makes me more anxious.

I'm finally done tho!! WooHoo!

Good luck with your exams!

When you get anxiety just try to relax. Sit somewhere quiet or semi-quiet, maybe with music on and try to focus on something else. I have anxiety sometimes, and I use to have exam anxiety. I would try to joke around with my friends in class and think about other stuff rather than the exam. Anxiety is a bitch.

Yoga. Plus it helps me to get a good night sleep before the exam so I can wake up a couple hours before the exam (if it's in the morning) and eat a good breakfast, watch some tv, listen to music, and just take it easy. I would never study before an exam b/c it just gets you more agitated.

No duh! It's quite ironic tho. I've had friends before a final drink red bulls and take caffeine pills to cram all night! Talk about shaking in your boots, they couldn't even see straight. Can't remember how well they did.

As for me, I've got more - hopefully useful - advice. If you can afford it, hang with friends if possible for a few hours, have dinner or watch TV/movie with them...

That's good advice.....that would certainly do the trick for me...gives you time to take things into perspective...at least for me

Exam anxiety attacks?

What I should've done:
- Drink lotsa water.
- Get rid of all the distractions.
- Study facing a blue wall/poster/desktop background/whatever as long as it's blue.
- Get enough sleep 1 day before the exam.

What I did:
- Drank coffee.
- Kept checking out Mazda3Forums while studying.
- Studied in front of my monitor which had black background.
- Didn't sleep at all.
