Pictures taken at Marienberg Castle in Wurzburg, Germany. We also played around on the Autobahn today and from a roll the Max walked the 330i every time and that is with a full tank of gas and a passenger in my car. I really wasn't expecting it since my car is a 4spd Auto and his was a 6spd Auto which I thought would have offset my car's higher torque rating and lighter weight. But after I hit my governor at 130, he blows by me since his governor is at 160. God I love the Autobahn, now if I could get rid of the governor.

He's got his winter wheel/tire setup on at the moment. The car looks much better with the stock 162's.

The 330i is far from being slow, just not as fast as my Max 8) I'm holding out for the 335i Coupe which will have a 305hp bi-turbo 3.0 inline6 engine. What is even more impressive about that engine is it will have 300lb/tq that is available from 1500rpm to redline. The only decision is whether to sell or keep the Max since my wife and I love it so much.

yea id keep the max to have for going to work/weekends, and the bmw for those special cruises...cause if youre anything like me youll worry about that thing 24/7

3 cars for a 2 person household might be impractical. The Mazda3 is already our grocery getter (but my Max has more dents, go figure), so the Max might not have a role in the household. We were thinking about sending the Max back to the states to my wife's parents but why would I be hooking them up like that? :p So, unfortunately, in all likelyhood I will sell the Max. :( But it is still about 6 months to a year away as the coupe won't be on sale until December of this year at the earliest according to the dealer.

Never underestimate the power of VQ :)
The VQ35 is a little rough at idle compared to the Bimmer but man does it have a ton of torque. The consensus on the Max forum is that Nissan underrated the torque and overrated the horsepower. So, people say it probably only has 240hp instead of 255hp and 260lb/tq instead of 245. This corresponds to dyno tests people have done as I only dyno'ed somewhere around 205whp.

"The VQ35 is a little rough at idle..."

Hmm...wonder if you have some dirty fuel injectors or intake valves. My '02 Altima ran so smoothly and quietly you had to check the tach to make sure it was running. In any case, that engine TOTALLY deserves the awards it's been given over the last 13 years. I miss my Altima for that reason...and that reason only. :) If the car hadn't had so many bugs, I might still have it.

Twin Turbo Beemers, You Euros are soooo lucky!
The 335 will be here once the coupe is anounced, most likely the 330 will become the base model and the 325 dropped.

As it is right now the 325 and 330 share the same engine, they are both 3.0 (in the US only), the 325 has the same 3.0L block but has a different intake manifold and software.

As for the 330 being slow, its not slow at all, its slower then the new IS350 yes but its barely slower then the G35, and the 335 hasnt even come out yet. That is going to make those other cars look slow especially since the IS will not have a manual.

BTW nice pics!

Tell your friend he should have gotten the sport package and clears for the front, they dont offer them here on the sedans :(

Military Sales does not offer Eurospecs Bimmers. Clear eyelids and M-sport package is not offered as an option. I have looked into buying the eurospec headlight assembly but it would cost too much since the one I want have angel eyes and xenons. M-sport package is not offered but you can buy the body kit but also costs way too much. I rather get the AC Schnitzer body kit for less. The more important aspects of the M-sports package such as the interior trim, more agressive gearing, and suspension are not available individually. So, basically I would have to buy a Eurospec 3 series and then go through the pain of converting the car to meet U.S. standards when I want to ship it back to the states. No thanks...

I didnt mean the M sport pack which is nice but I am not sure worth the money.

I didnt know you were buying a US spec car. They made the damm clears so hard to change on the E90 the assembly is to expensive. It will be a matter of time before someone figures out how to change them. You will probably have to bake the headlights though. :(
