mono pod into tripod...

Well, unless you know a very slim and light tripod...
I am on holidays, and a lot of the places here you would need to use the flash or a tripod.
Since i don't have one i have to use the flash and the pictures are never that great, unless i can get to lay the camera on something for a longer shutter.s!
I am thinking about buying a cheap and light mono pod, then modify the bottom to be able to screw a mini tripod... that could work, but what about the head, do mono pod have a rotating head? or i would need to find a way to make it fit?
I just want to be able to make it as small as a feet or a bit more then extend up to 4 feet...
any ideas on how to make this?

For the price it's pretty good. Extends to 50"

Re: mono pod into tripod...

Monopods typically don't have any type of head on them, but they have a 1/4 or 3/8 stud on them so you can mount a ballhead or whatever you want on them.

How about something like this? - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...pod_Black.html

You can tilt but won't be able to pan with the head. You can accomplish that by turning the monopod.
