First time playing with shutter speed + aperture settings.

So.. I was bored and I decided to play around with the settings on my camera and this is what i came up with! Out of like the 50 shots i took only 1 picture seemed to have come out nice. I was really experimenting with different settings so unfortunately i can't remember which settings I had set for this picture But here you go!

Re: First time playing with shutter speed + aperture settings.

The settings are stored in the exif info with the picture. If you have a pc you can right click on the file and select 'properties' and see the relevant info. If you have a Mac I have no idea how you do it.

I think a little to much detail is lost in the blacks. One step or so more exposure might be better.

Re: First time playing with shutter speed + aperture settings.

Did you shoot it in RAW mode? You can play with the parameters in the RAW editor and see what effect different settings have on the picture.

[/quote]that would all depend on what you're trying to achieve. you need to learn what a proper exposure is if you're goign tio play with aperture adn shutter speeds. playing with those will teach you next to nothing if you dont know what a proper exposure is.

having said that, you cannot better a picture if you don;t know what you did wrong in the first place and why it's wrong.
