Lighting/Flash Gurus... help please!

As most of you know, I am currently shooting with a Canon 5D Mark II (+ 24-70 f/2.8L) and a Canon Speedlite 580EX II flash. Ken (the BF) bought me an umbrella set for Christmas that I have been DYING to use. I was able to use it for the first time on Saturday after borrowing two forum member's flashes (I think they were both 430 EX IIs, I cannot remember).

Anyways, as we all know, everything in photography is expensive...

Due to some pay-cut issues at work I do not have a great amount of disposable income, but I am dying to be able to start using my umbrellas more regularly without having to borrow flashes from people.

I was wondering what my options are for purchasing additional flashes for use ONLY as slave units with the 580 EX II. I am not 100% set on Canon, so I am more than happy to give a looksie to Sigma, Vivitar, Sunpak, etc. etc.

I need to buy TWO of them, so the cheaper... the better. Obviously if I could purchase two 430 EX IIs I'd do that in a heartbeat... but even used they are $200.00 a piece and I just do not have that much extra money right now. I was looking to spend between $200.00 and $300.00 total between the two.

They do not have to have a huge range of options at this time... as long as they work with my camera and 580EX II I am a happy camper. They will only be used for car photography, so they don't even need to work at a super long distance... basically just far enough away to cover the length or a car or two.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Theres a chinese off brand called YongNuo. I personally don't have their flashes, but I get their cables, and cords and what not and they are very similar to official Nikon ones. You can find them on ebay.

Cheapie-cheapie with decent guide numbers would be Sunpack 383's or Vivitar 285hv's. They won't E-TTL with Canon, but if you're using them off-camera you might as well be using manual settings anyhow.

Watch ebay, as you can pick up used ones for less than $50/ea at times. I khow the 285HV's and 383's are pretty popular with strobists due to their low cost and decent output.
