The extra zoom isnt that big a deal for me, its 2 less mp, and $30 more. not sure its really worth that

Yeah I know I was looking at a Nikon Coolpix 12mp but did not have all the features I wanted.

I went to Bestbuy and I actually compared the camera your looking at with the one I listed.

I was messing with the Zoom feature and the one you like was very fuzzy and out of focus alot. But maybe it was not setup right, who knows.

Always good to see them hands on and mess with them a bit.

here is a better option, its a few steps below the one that I have, but very similar. the thing with digital cameras is just because the mp is high, it doesn't mean it takes good pics. its all in the lens, the higher the mp, the larger the image can be. I have a 10.2 mp camera, but the setting I use to take pics is actually around 7mp, and I still have to resize every picture I take.

also, I HATE the kodak easy share software, so I don't use it. I take my mem card out and just plug it into my laptop and drag and drop, so much easier. if I need to edit a pic, I use photoshop. the easy share software is just a pain in the neck if you want to share photos with people outside kodaks little society they have built up.

Re: Need some advice on a camera, help?

I understand waiting, but in the meantime do all the research you can and find the camera that you really want. its what I did when I bought mine. I had two or three cameras before this one and they were all the "well I can afford this one" types and no "I really want this one".

I may not have the best camera here, or take the best shots, but for what I paid and the shots I do get, I LOVE my camera. I started looking before I got my job, and a few months after I got my job, I got the camera.

with a point and shoot, you really dont need anything more than 8 or 10 megapixels.
