Just got a new camera...

So I recently got a new digital camera for a Birthday/Christmas present and want to make the best of it.

The camera is an Olympus Stylus Tough (10MPx version)... anyone have any tips or tricks regarding this camera?

I see all these great pics throughout the forums and would love to join in on the fun...

experiment with different scene modes...
and pick up a tripod if you don't have one...blurry night shots are a bummer.

Re: Just got a new camera...

technically you don't need a tripod to get clear shots. My Sony T10 slim point and shoot takes clear pictures even when I'm driving. You really only need it in lowlight like a christmas decoration. Then you have a flash so you can take pictures of your buddies if your going out to eat or something.

Re: Just got a new camera...

I have the Olympus Stylus 1050SW which is before they started calling them "Tough series". I believe your camera is similar Its also 10mp and I've had it for a year and it takes fantastic pictures. Don't worry about the "waterproofness" of it hehe. It works great! I've taken it snorkeling on my last trip to the Philippines and was able to get great shots underwater as well as video. In fact you are supposed to wash the camera in fresh water after haha. I got a lot of funny looks while i was "washing" it in a bathroom after. Its also been dropped by my niece TWICE! Its been with me snowboarding as well. They really are "tough"! Enjoy your new toy and post some pics!
