Good Photography Books?

I got a Nikon D3000 about a month ago and just got a 55-200mm lens and was wondering if you guys had any recommendations on good photography books?

I was looking at getting a D3000 book from a site I use to buy books for school and was also going to go browse Barnes and Noble to see what they have. I use the internet a lot for reading about my camera, but also wanted to books to read when I don't feel like staring at a screen for hours.

Re: Good Photography Books?

i just walked into a barnes and nobles one day and picked out a random book that looked to be informative and had lots of exmaples and pictures. i guess it depends on how serious you want to get into it. i got myself a D60 a few months back just as a small step above a basic point and shoot and the book i picked up (Mastering your Digital SLR by Chris Weston) was sufficient for me. alot of photography books ive read all just say the same stuff anyways

I saw the ones on your Flickr, haven't seen them at the bookstore though, might look around online and see if I can find them used for less.

Re: Good Photography Books?

I think Scott Kelby's series is a good place to start. Look on Amazon for a good deal, but you can usually find the books at a Barnes and Noble.
