here is a pic of my friend's rig, he has 2 suction cups that mount to the top of the car. He and his dad built it out of stuff from home depot

Yep suction cups and a long enough tubing works rather well. If you are planning on doing this manfrotto is a good brand for equipment however it's rather expensive.

An alternative to suction cups is using large magnets mounted to the underbody of the car.

Also with the right settings all you need it to push the car slightly to achieve the full speed effect. http://www.rigshots.com.au/howto1.htm <-- good website and how-to on rig shots
