need help

ok im a complete idiot when it comes to cameras but for the longest time ive wanted to be able to take really high quality pics and a digital camera aint cutting it so if any of you could give me some advice on a good camera should i get an slr there are some good packages on ebay for them new for like 600 dollars
please if you can include a sample pic of the quality of the pictures

so you want to go from digital to film? or do you want to go to a digital slr from a point and shoot?
Going from point and shoot to slr will give you better pictures, but not as deamatically is I think you're expecting especially if you're just doing full auto.
My 2 cents is save your money and get a better point and shoot.

this is a picture I took with it a few weeks ago, no post editing involved. this is straight off the camera, but with manual settings and not full auto
