my new camera :)

i added some velcro attached to a cut up njtuners lanyard to mod it so the back doesn't randomly pop off and ruin the film.

Re: my new camera :)

i wish i did. i'm looking into getting one, because i want to try developing my own film. i'm thinking it will be fun and (once i get the hang of it) cheaper. since developing medium format film is like 15$ a roll for 12 pictures.

Re: my new camera :)

it's good if you have a garage with a sink, because the chemicals are pretty smelly.

Re: my new camera :)

I don't remember developing film as being all that stinky. During college, for one of my photojournalism classes I decided to just start developing my own film at home, to give me more time in the darkroom at school. Worked out great just doing all the processing in my kitchen sink. I spent maybe $80 for the daylight bag, film reels, etc. and in the end, it probably cost me about $1/roll to develop. You can save even more money if you roll your own film by buying a 100' spool and reusable 35mm cartridges.

Re: my new camera :)

it's definitely not near as bad as developing prints, because the chemicals don't sit in open trays.

True, unless you get to use one of these:

Dry-to-dry in about a minute and a half. Kind of a pain to maintain (you need to rinse it out daily, etc.) but if you're churning through prints like I did when I worked at the on-campus photo department, it's a godsend.

Re: my new camera :)

kewl. kinda takes the "art" out of it (deciding when to stop bath) but nice for grunt work.
