Favorite Places/Locations to Photograph

Got this idea from a hockey forum based on a different subject.

What/Where are your favorite places to photograph anything? (maybe add a picture or two of the location)

Detroit:
-Belle Isle
-Riverfront
-Michigan Central Station
-Eastern Market

Battle Creek, MI:
-Bridge Park
-Bailey Park

Augusta, Mi:
-Fort Custer State Park

Internet is slower than molasses in winter, so I'll upload pictures later.

Re: Favorite Places/Locations to Photograph

NH: White Mountains in general, Cathedral Ledge and all along the Kancamagus Highway in particular. Crawford Notch and Mt. Washington are also regular stops when I'm up there.

Philadelphia: Eastern state Penitentiary, Fairmount Water Works, City Hall

DC: Um, the Mall obviously! All of it Need to get down there for more than a few hours so I can actually go exploring

Boston: Charles River (both sides), Boston Common, Seaport area in Southie, Green Line

Providence: Gano St. Bridge, the area over by the new 195 bridge across from the power plant, train tracks over near the mall, Prospect Park, State House, Waterplace Park.

Chicago: Pretty much all of it, really.

CT: Fairfield Hills (abandoned mental facility), UConn pastures, Putnam (abandoned mills).

Re: Favorite Places/Locations to Photograph

I think my favorite place to date, strictly photography-wise, would be some of the abandoned buildings in the industrial tide flats here in Tacoma, WA. It's slightly risky but worth it. But the Grand Canyon and anything in that Southern Utah/Northern Arizona area is obviously an honorable mention as well. Hope to have a lot more to add to this list soon!

Same here. I like driving around the abandoned areas of Detroit, but I prefer to roll the window down and take a shot from my car haha

I've gotten out of my car a few times and explored. It's right by the Port though, where the rent-a-cops get all in a huff if they see you with a camera. They caught me once when I was doing nothing wrong, and hassled me for it. But I've gotten some awesome shots in those abandoned lots. One of them is an old grain elevator. The lowest level is used as like a storage facility and has cameras and stuff, but if you sneak around the back you can explore the entire building, from basement to roof. My sister and I made the journey one day. It's where I got this pic, one of my favorites.

I always want to go to more of these places but like I said, it is risky, and usually I'm just not that up to it.
