Tripods, anybody?

I have a Canon XSi and am looking for a decent tripod. Nothing too professional or crazy expensive, but also nothing too cheap. What are all of you using? Any recommendations?

Re: Tripods, anybody?

I love, love, love my Manfrotto Neotec tripod. Mine's the 458B model, and I got it for $289 from B&H because it was a display model, and this was two years ago. Not sure what it (or newer versions) are going for now. But I couldn't recommend it higher. For how great it is, I don't use it nearly enough. No locking mechanisms, quick and easy as all heck to extend, use, and then pack away. Simple as it gets.

Re: Tripods, anybody?

Well if you're looking for something a bit cheaper but somewhat decent, I use a Sunpak tripod that I picked up from Best Buy for 60-70 bux. It's not the greatest but works well enough for most situations with my XSI.

Re: Tripods, anybody?

I just got a Slik 700DX from B&H and very happy with it.

It is on special for $139, supports 15lbs, and max height is 75".

Cheap, strong, and tall...

Re: Tripods, anybody?

i went to a best buy, wolf/ritz camera store and i didnt like any of their tripods. So i went to a local camera store and found one i really like. I have the velbon DF-60 and its pretty strong and sturdy. I suggest seeing if you have any stores around your city and go in there unless you buy online.

x2 (well not 2 times his 3 tripods for a total of 6....) I got mine from Amazon. It's a good bit taller than my last one and I like the way it attaches to my camera.
