2017 Volvo V90 Station Wagon Revealed
Volvo has unveiled its latest station wagon, the new V90.
This is the third vehicle in Volvo’s ’90’ series, which consists of the XC90 SUV and S90 sedan. All three of these are built on Volvo’s new Scalable Product Architecture platform, which means they share drivetrains.
Volvo has only confirmed the availability of the T8 plug-in hybrid system making 410 horsepower so far, but it is quite likely that the 250-hp T5 and 315-hp T6 models will also be available. The plug-in model will have an all-electric range of roughly 31 miles.
Again, looking at the interior of the S90 and XC90 have prepped us for what’s found in the new V90, which is a large touchscreen infotainment system fitted inside wooden accents with very few physical controls. The latest infotainment system is used, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
'We have a very strong position in the estate segment,” said Håkan Samuelsson, president and chief executive of Volvo Cars. “In many people’s minds, we are known as the definitive estate brand. While the Volvo brand today stands for more than estates, we are proud to carry forward this rich heritage with the V90.'
Safety systems also abound, including semi-autonomous driving, large animal detection, run-off road mitigation and more.
