Newbie

Hey,

My Name is Daja. I am 26 from NJ.
I joined the forum to meet other mazda 3 lovers and I really want to trick out my car.
Oh yeah... I have a 2005 Mazda 3i in strato blue mica as you can see in my avatar.
Its all stock right now minus the 16" wheels and Michelin Pilot Exalto Sports.
...So, who better to ask where to start than my fellow ladies!

TIA for the suggestions.

Re: Newbie

welcome to the forum
I think a tint and drop would set your car off to a good start

Re: Newbie

Welcome. Like kitty says tint and drop gives the car a whole new look and isn't really tooo expensive of a place to start. I've got the tint just working on the drop

Re: Newbie

tails (a mod that seems to be popular among I drivers is changing out the tails, people tend to go for LED Tails or OEM tails off the stock 3s, the 3s tails at one point tended to be a challange to find, but they are more readily avilable now, plus mazda is currently using clear tails on the new 07 3i's (they aren't quite the same as what was on the 3s between 04-06), but if u wanted to avoid the serach and wanted to pay dealer price for the tails u could probably buy them straight from the dealer--the install is really easy--but u can just as easily find what u want on ebay, but beareful that u get sedan tails and not hatch tails, hatch tails won't fit the sedan)

tint (can run you between $175 - $200ish, depends where u go, the qualitiy of tint, the percent of darkness)
chrome signal rings

debadging (or if u want the axela badge, will run you about $40 on japanparts, or u can order it off ebay, but becareful if u do make sure u get the badge for the sedan and not the hatch, there is a difference between the two, not many people actually know that but the slant in the axela badge is different from the sedan to hatch)

better tires (just depends on what kind of tires u get--http://www.tirerack.com, edgeracing.com are the best places to find tires/rims etc)

brake pads/struts

horn (i paid $67 for hella supertones, again depends on what u get and if u want a louder horn...i've found it to be an extremely useful device esp since the stock 3 horn is so whimpy)

CAI

exhaust

front/rear sway bar

camber plates

grill

shark fin

stubby antenna

etc etc etc etc etc

**price range on these items depends on what brand u get, where you get it from etc etc**

hope this helps, sorry this post is a little lengthy, just want to make sure u get pratial information about the 3 that may not always appear consistantly on this forum--

Re: Newbie

first thing i did to my car was tints..black interior gets toooo HOT.

i suggest tints..2.3 tail lights and change the 12" antenna. (maybe a shark fin)
it'll be fun.
