Who are the "Ladies?"

I figured since there aren't very many of us, it might be nice to get to know one-another...we gals need to stick together, right?

Anyhow, I'm Kirsten (33), mom to Dane (5) and wife to Derek (almost 34). We are waiting on our little Mazda 3 baby...we have decided we will name him Dash (like the little boy in "The Incredibles"...keeps with the D-name theme, LOL)! I'm a portrait photographer (I work outdoors, so mostly do jobs during the summer...weddings are my favorite) and an independent consultant for The Body Shop at Home. Once my rugrat is in school I'd like to get back to working full-time...just need to figure out what jobs are even out there. We're not in a real good area for creative-types like me.

Re: Who are the "Ladies?"

Well I am Kira (20...21 in july) engaged to my fiance, Brian (23) . We are probably getting married in April of 08. I work as a line cook fulltime at the largest retirement community on the east coast (not a home lol) I USED to own a 3....I miss it sometimes...But I do still rock a mazda. I now own a 2003 Mazda Miata. Ill probably end up purchasing another 3 in the future....Hmm nothing else?

...I LOVE the body shop!lol

Re: Who are the "Ladies?"

Ooh, a Miata! How fun! I'd love a cute little sports car like that...but it's not very practical with a kid and our long winters, unfortunately (but isn't our kid lucky...he will be driving in 11 years or so and we will almost certainly still have the 3, so he will inherit that as his first car...maybe then I can get a little sports car)!

Congrats on your upcoming wedding...wedding planning is such a lot of work--I don't envy you at all!

Hey, if you ever want to order any Body Shop products, just give me a heads-up...I have a website that I can send you the link to.

I am Kadie (just like Katie but its not short for Katherine or anything...I always get asked that) I am 22 and I will be graduating in 49 days...woo hoo!! I attend a private instituation that I pay way tooo much for but I will have my BA in Psychology and Criminal Justice. I will then be moving on to grad school most likely in the fall for Forensic Psychology. Right now I am interning at a state prison where I get to work with lifers and other interesting individuals...ummm I work at Banana Republic part time while attending school. I am currently on my 2nd Mazda 3 and I plan to keep this one for awhile. I love my car! And I love the metallic Velo Red color even more.

As far as weddings go....I am in the process of planning a wedding for July 07' but my mother is driving me nuts and trying to get it over with before 06' If my hunny and my mom keep this up I am ditching them both haha isn't a wedding supposed to be up to the 2 people getting married not the groom and my mother?

Anyways, it is very nice to meet all of you ladies

I agree. I have been a big fan of TBS for probably close to 15 years. I spent a semester in the UK and their stores are like Starbucks over there...EVERYWHERE! Loved that!

Wow, what a fascinating career that would be!

Weddings...ack! My hubby and I (well, mostly *I*) planned our wedding and paid for it...what a pain. We both agreed after the fact that we wish we had spent the money on a longer honeymoon (we went to Nova Scotia, CAN) or a honeymoon in Scotland. The whole day was so much work and stress. We really wish we had done just a simple outdoor ceremony and a picnic/kegger reception.
